The Reserve Protocol has announced that the Q3 2025 rebalancing proposal for the $OPEN Stablecoin Index is now live, inviting community participation in a crucial governance vote. The proposal, which aims to refine the composition of the index, suggests the inclusion of three new tokens—$ALCX, $OGN, and $FXN—while removing $ENA from the basket.

Voting for this rebalancing, dubbed the “ReGenesis,” opened on July 7, 2025, at 10:03 AM PT and will run for 24 hours, closing on July 8, 2025, at 10:03 AM PT. The $OPEN Stablecoin Index, built on Reserve’s If approved, the addition of $ALCX (Alchemix), $OGN (Origin Protocol), and $FXN (f(x) Protocol) aims to enhance the index’s representation of leading stablecoin networks. (DTF), is an equal-weight index designed to promote transparency, composability, and user-owned governance in the stablecoin ecosystem. Unlike traditional models with centralized decision-making, $OPEN relies on its community to shape its future through votes cast using vlSQUILL tokens.

If approved, the addition of $ALCX (Alchemix), $OGN (Origin Protocol), and $FXN (f(x) Protocol) aims to enhance the index’s representation of leading stablecoin networks. Alchemix is known for its self-repaying loans, Origin Protocol powers decentralized marketplaces, and f(x) Protocol offers a decentralized stablecoin backed by tier-1 DeFi assets like stETH.

Conversely, $ENA, associated with Ethena Labs, would be rotated out to align with the index’s strategic goals for Q3 2025.Community members holding vlSQUILL are encouraged to participate in the vote, which will determine the final composition of the index. The proposal has already sparked discussions across platforms, with posts on X highlighting the significance of this governance event and urging token holders to cast their votes.
