Coinbase Partners with Visa to Enable Real-Time Crypto Deposits via Debit Card

Coinbase has announced its partnership with Visa to allow users to make real-time deposits directly into their Coinbase accounts using Visa debit cards.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Coinbase to help service their customers’ money movement needs,” said Yanilsa Gonzalez Ore, Head of Visa Direct, North America for Visa.

This new feature, set to roll out in the coming weeks, promises to enhance the user experience by facilitating near-instant transfers that were previously unavailable.

Until now, while millions of users have successfully linked their debit cards to their Coinbase accounts for transactions, the process of transferring funds into their crypto wallets often took longer than desired.

The feature allows eligible Visa debit card holders to “take advantage of trading opportunities day and night.

This collaboration with Visa aims to eliminate those delays, providing users with a seamless way to access their funds and invest in cryptocurrencies without the wait.

“Partnering with Visa is a significant step towards streamlining the way our users interact with their cryptocurrency holdings,” said a Coinbase spokesperson. “With the ability to make real-time deposits, we’re empowering our users to take advantage of market opportunities as they arise—instantly.” 

The integration is expected to attract more users to the platform, particularly those who are new to cryptocurrency trading and may have been hesitant due to previous limitations.

They will also be able to buy or sell cryptocurrencies directly on the exchange using the Visa debit card, offering a much easier way for non-savvy crypto folks to invest in the asset class. The convenience of real-time deposits could also encourage existing users to engage more actively with their investments.

With Visa’s extensive network and Coinbase’s user-friendly platform, the collaboration represents a significant milestone in making cryptocurrency more accessible to the masses.
